Field of 128 Contest
The FFPC ‘Field of 128' is a supplemental contest to the FFPC Main Event. Only FFPC Main Event players are eligible to participate. Both Live and Online teams will be competing together in this event. Entry fee is $100 per team. Online registration is available here. The 2010 ‘Field of 128' Grand Prize is $3,500.
The Field of 128 will run in a similar fashion to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. By registering your FFPC Main Event team into this contest simply means that your team will be placed into the Field of 128 bracket and will compete in H2H matchups against an opponent on a weekly basis. No additional team management is required to participate in this contest, as it simply incorporates the weekly score from your FFPC Main Event teams. Only the first 128 teams will be are permitted to enter as the 2010 Field of 128 will NOT expand beyond 128 entries.
NFL Week 1 is used to determine seeding for the Field of 128 by using the final score foreach team. After completion of Week 1, these 128 scoring teams will be seeded into the Field of 128 in the following manner: Teams 1 through 4 will be assigned the #1 Seed. Teams 5 through 8 will be assigned the #2 Seed. Teams 9 through 12 will be assigned the #3 Seed. This will continue until all teams have been assigned Seeds #1-32.
All teams will then be placed into four 32-team brackets based on their seedings and will play in H2H matchups starting in Week 2. A custom Live Field of 128 Bracket has been created to track the contest during Weeks 2-16.
Each H2H matchup will last either 2 or 3 weeks, depending on the "round" we are in. Scoring will be based on 2 or 3 weeks of total points scored. All current FFPC scoring rules apply.
For example, for Round of 64 (Weeks 2-3-4):
Seed 1 plays Seed 32. The team with the most total points from their FFPC Main Event starting lineup for NFL weeks 2, 3 and 4 moves on to the next round. The losing team is eliminated from the competition.
After the completion of the current "round" the winning teams move on to face their new opponents based on the Field of 128 bracket. This continues until the FFPC Field of 128 Champion is crowned. Top 16 surviving teams win prizes as described in the prize section.
